In short, he’s the Washington establishment’s worst nightmare, and will provide the best protection for New Jersey from a dangerously expanding federal juggernaut. In 2009, New Jerseyans finally got it right. Let’s not just stay the course, let’s drive it home.
In 2009 New Jersey voters made a bold and clear choice when they elected Chris Christie governor. In so doing, the state’s citizens stood up and said “no more”: no more escalating, job-destroying tax rates. No more public sector union bullying. No more paralyzing regulation. No more failing schools.
They did it with one resounding voice, and they did it against the cynical predictions and preferences of the powerful left wing media. They accomplished what most said was impossible, the defeat of a deep-pocketed plutocrat gifted with an army of support from from a dominant party. They did this because not to do it would have been to accept their states’s mediocrity and decline. They did it to take back their own power to define their future.
And their daring choice has paid immense dividends, as tax rates have fallen, public sector union abuses ended, wasteful spending curtailed. As a result New Jersey is in the process of coming back to what it once was, a vibrant, economically kinetic place where small business growth fuels the dreams of a whole new generation. Now circumstance has offered New Jersey a fresh opportunity to lock in its march toward renewal. And the choice is even clearer, and, if possible, more crucial.
On October 16, New Jerseyans will go to the polls to elect a new US Senator.
The Montclair Republican Club is proud to endorse Steve Lonegan.
Steve Lonegan loves New Jersey. A student of history, he knows the mechanisms by which NJ lost its once vaunted status as the top job creator in the nation. He has unique insight into the insidious onslaught of creeping taxation, the stifling effects of the entitlement culture, and the silent, stealthy growth of stagnant bureaucracy. He’s the rare combination of conviction politician with the populist muscle to effect real change.
In short, he’s the Washington establishment’s worst nightmare, and will provide the best protection for New Jersey from a dangerously expanding federal juggernaut. In 2009, New Jerseyans finally got it right. Let’s not just stay the course, let’s drive it home. Elect Steve Lonegan on October 16.
