NO-HOLDS-BARRED REPUBLICAN LIBERTY-LOVER TED NUGENT in MONTCLAIR Joins Summer’s FIRST AMENDMENT WHIRLWIND

SUMMER’S UNUSUALLY LIVELY (AND NOW LOCAL) POLITICAL DISCOURSE…

“We haven’t had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine” – Don Henley, Glenn Lewis Frey, Don Felder

Wellmont Theater’s Ted Nugent show on Tuesday, July 22, brings the nation’s First Amendment freedoms down home this summer, as progressive groups plan to protest Nugent’s appearance. Other recent cases include the Supreme Court’s Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby decision and the Costco decision to pull Dinesh D’Souza’s book on American liberty from the shelves, which was reversed by Costco after 15,000+ negative Facebook comments.  At the end of the day, today, companies still have the right to mount a show, stock a book, or decide – albeit within a very narrow range — what health insurance benefits to provide to employees. And, the public has the right to purchase tickets/not purchase, seek employment with/not seek employment with, shop/not shop, and protest/support. Right on, First Amendment.
